There were six new virus-related deaths reported in Dutchess in the past week, as the total rose to 206. The number of active cases rose from 1,102 on Thursday, Dec. 10 to 1,330 five days later on Tuesday, Dec. 15, according to the county Department of Health.
Late last month, the county was only monitoring approximately 200 active cases.
There have now been 9,290 - approximately 700 new this week - confirmed COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began in early March out of more than 322,000 tests administered in Dutchess.
Ninety-six patients are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in Dutchess, up from 93 on Thursday.

There are less than five active COVID-19 cases in Millbrook Village, Red Hook Village, and Tivoli Village.
The total number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in New York climbed to 5,410, and there were 106 new virus-related deaths reported, bringing the total to 27,785 fatalities in the past nine months.
Since the pandemic began, 21,962 COVID-19 tests have been administered in New York, with 775,160 in total testing positive for the virus.
